Singapore takes pride in its multi-ethnic and multi-religious society. It is home to people from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds, such as the Chinese, Malays, Indians and Eurasians. How do these different communities prepare for and celebrate their festivals? What are the similarities among them? Co-curated by Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall and students from River Valley High School, “Celebrating Commonalities: Festive Customs in Singapore” highlights various aspects in the preparation and celebration of different festivals, offering insights into the colourful cultural fabric that makes Singapore so unique. The exhibition is available in both English and Mandarin.
