Guardian of the City II (GOTC II) Tournament
GOTC II is a Total Defence strategy card game designed to help players develop a deeper understanding of Singapore’s security threats. It highlights how each individual has a part to play in keeping Singapore strong against new threats and how society can come together to prepare for, respond to and recover from crises.
Details
GOTC II TRAINING WORKSHOP [2 HOUR 30 MINS] Registered participants for the tournament will be invited to a training workshop a week prior to the tournament day. Participants will then learn about the tournament rules and be briefed about the rundown of the tournament day. Participants will also be given a chance to try playing according to the tournament rules and clarify any doubts or questions regarding the gameplay.
TOURNAMENT DAY [WHOLE DAY]
Challenge yourselves and stand a chance to win attractive prizes. Split into 2 categories, Individual and Team, each category taking half a day. In the team category, participants will be going up against others from the different schools, to earn points towards their own team’s total points. In the individual category, participants will be earning points in the group stage before entering the knockout stages.
Objectives:
1. Learn the importance of the different pillars of Total Defence.
2. Learn the impact of the different crises and the importance of community support.
Target Audience: Sec 1 to 4/5 students
Runtime: Yearly Tournament, held in Mid-November
