Let’s spark real conversations and reflection through the power of theatre. Our Interactive Theatre on Friendship is a captivating assembly programme that is designed to challenge students’ thought process and give them the opportunity to participate in conversations with the cast onstage, while addressing and relating to potential real-life scenarios.

Synopsis:

One of a Kind is an interactive performance about a group of secondary school friends during a typical week at school. The scenes will depict various conflicts and pressures faced by teenagers in their daily lives and offer perspectives on how they can move forward when confronting difficult situations. Students will be encouraged to share their thoughts and suggest tangible solutions based on empathy, kindness, and understanding to influence how the scenes unfold.

The performance will explore the overarching theme of friendship through short scenes addressing topics such as cyber-kindness, multiculturalism, and fostering positive friendships. This show aims to foster empathy and thoughtfulness among students as they navigate complex interpersonal relationship dynamics and situations.

In this engaging session, students will:

  • Recognise social and emotional challenges faced by their peers;

  • Demonstrate empathy by considering different perspectives in friendship conflicts;

  • Identify positive ways to respond to situations;

  • Reflect on how to build and maintain healthy, respectful friendships; and

  • Practise standing up and speaking out with kindness and respect.

This participatory theatre format allows students not just to observe, but to participate, rethink, and rehearse better ways to build positive friendships. Designed to be relatable and student-led, this programme empowers young minds to be active contributors to a more inclusive and harmonious school environment.
