Museum Based Learning: Culture Archives

Primary 4
Take a trip with us to the cultural heartland of Kreta Ayer and join our “research team” to learn more about the contributions of the Chinese community! Students, playing the role of young reporters, will visit the Kreta Ayer Heritage Gallery and study the Intangible Cultural Heritage of five cultural arts – Chinese Opera, Chinese Puppetry, Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Tea Appreciation and Nanyin music. They will also learn about the shophouses and history of the area.
Museum Based Learning: Tales of the Emporium

Travel with us to the emporium of Geylang Serai and join our expedition to learn about the contributions of the Malay and Muslim communities in the development of Geylang Serai over the years! Students, playing the role of young explorers, will visit Geylang Serai Heritage Gallery and discover the rich history of the area.
Museum-based Learning: Artefactually Speaking at the National Museum

In this artefact-centric programme, co-developed with the Ministry of Education, students will explore the National Museum's galleries in independent groups while guided by a Passport activity booklet. They will also get to discover fascinating stories about specific artefacts from Singapore’s 700 years of history as they interact with our Museum Educators.
Museum-Based Learning: Asian Adventures

Primary 6
What was life in Southeast Asia like in the past? Your students will be guided by this question as they journey with a mythical Makara to discover stories about objects in ACM. This programme is aligned with the Primary 6 Character and Citizenship Education and Social Studies syllabi, and jointly designed with MOE. Travel to different time periods in Southeast Asia to explore what trade was like and learn about ways of life in the region. For MOE schools only.
Museum-Based Learning: Sights & Sounds of Little India

Students will be engaged with stories on the area’s long-standing trades and businesses, among other exciting highlights. By the end of the day, the young attendees will be able to walk away with a keener understanding of the Indian culture and the community’s contributions towards the development of Singapore and better appreciate their imprints on the city’s multi-cultural fabric.
