Students will discover more about Military Defence, one of the pillars of Total Defence. Through engaging and varied activities, students will understand the importance of the army and affirm their commitment to defend Singapore. Singapore Discovery Centre is managed by Defence Collective Singapore.

Details

FIELD-CRAFT EXPERIENCE [1 HOUR]

Students will engage in a variety of hands-on field craft activities such as basha pitching and camouflage. They will also learn to appreciate the role of the soldiers during jungle training.

EXPLORATION OF PERMANENT EXHIBITS GALLERY [30 MINS]

Students will explore the Permanent Exhibits Gallery to learn more about past events which highlight the importance of National Service and a strong defence force.

SAFTI MI BUS TOUR [30 MINS]

Hop onto our electric bus for an exclusive tour of SAFTI Military Institute around the 88-hectare training ground for officers-to-be (closed facility, only open for special tours). This tour offers a glimpse into the life of an officer cadet and the importance of National Service.

Objectives:

1. Spark interest in soldiering and affirm students’ commitment to Total Defence.

2. Understand how National Service contributes to the peace and stability of Singapore

Target Audience: Pri 3 - 6 students
