Experience the vibrant heart of one of the world’s busiest waterways as you venture out into the open waters of the Singapore Strait. Spot the diverse array of ships, observe the activities happening in the harbour and discover interesting offshore islands that are closely connected to this trade. Get close to Pasir Panjang Container Terminal and understand how the sea facilities your daily needs. Amid all our ongoing maritime progress, you will also learn how we are committed to protect our maritime biovidersity. This will be an forgettable voyage connecting industry, innovation, and environmental stewardship for a brighter and greener maritime future. The Sea Exploration Tour is available for participants above 12 years of age.

Details

This tour will begin with a one-hour guided tour of the Singapore Maritime Gallery, followed by a ferry ride sailing past St John’s Island, Kusu Island, Pulau Sebarok, Pulau Semakau, Pulau Bukom, Pasir Panjang Terminal, and Sentosa. Participants will not disembark onto any islands during this tour.

Learning Objectives

This programme allows participants to:

1. Understand maritime operations: Participants will gain insights into the intricate workings of the maritime industry as they cruise through the bustling Singapore Strait, observing the operations of cargo ships, vessels, and maritime activities.

2. Appreciate the evolving role of ports: Participants will get up discover the ever-expanding role of ports in facilitating global trade, supply chains, and the efficient delivery of daily necessities, supported by technological advancements.

3. Learn more about our offshore islands: Participants will get to understand the significance of islands like Pulau Sebarok and Pulau Bukom in supporting the maritime landscape, and their roles in the sustainable development of global shipping.

4. Explore sustainable maritime initiatives: Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on sustainability measures adopted within the maritime sector, eco-friendly practices, cutting edge green technology, and a commitment to shaping a more sustainable future.
