INTRODUCTION [30 MINS]
Students will be introduced to submarines, how they work to defend Singapore’s interests and the different types of submarines and their uses.
PERMANENT EXHIBITS GALLERY VISIT [30 MINS]
Students will have the opportunity to explore the Navy Museum’s exhibits gallery to learn more about the Navy’s role in defending Singapore’s waters and protecting our interests.
HANDS-ON EXPLORATION [1 HOUR]
Students will be tasked to build their own submarines and discover the relationship between mass, volume, pressure, and density.
Objectives:
1. Understand the role that the Navy plays in the defence of Singapore and how submarines can help to secure Singapore’s trade routes and defence.
2. Learn about the different types of submarines and their uses.
3. Gain insights into how pressure and science play a part in the making and operationalisation of a submarine.
