Embark on a captivating journey of transformation with out Maritime Evolution Trail. Discover the progress of Singapore’s modern maritime industry as you travel from Labrador Park to St James Power Station. Along the way, explore the dynamic Keppel Harbour, the strategic St James Power Station and hear stories of how we have built our port infrastructure. This is an opportunity to reflect on the dedication of the maritime community, appreciate our remarkable achievements, and celebrate the inspiring story of Maritime Singapore.
Details
This trail consists of both walking and bus routes, which will take participants through Labrador Park, Keppel Harbour, Bukit Chermin Broadwalk, St James Power Station, Tanjong Pagar Terminal and Marina South Pier.
Learning Objectives
This programme allows participants to:
1. Appreciate industry advancements: Participants will get to witness the significant strides and advancements in Singapore’s maritime industry, evolving from a historical legacy into a worldwide maritime leader.
2. Learn about port and shipping facilities: Participants will discover the requirements of port operations, why our port terminals are located the way they are, and how this has progressed from the past to the present.
3. Understand maritime connectivity: Participants will explore the role of Singapore as a vital maritime gateway through the years and our strategic position in connecting global trade routes.
4. Celebrate Singapore’s maritime journey: Commemorate Singapore’s enduring maritime journey and our nation’s achievement in establishing a prominent position in the global maritime arena.
