Children's Museum Singapore: Self guided Visit at CMGS (A Voyage Back in Time)
Go on a time travelling voyage with WonderBot and Captain to olden days Singapore! Pupils will learn more about life in early Singapore as they explore the immersive permanent galleries through this self-guided visit.
Details
Pupils will go through a multisensory experience in the interactive galleries which includes objects coming alive to share their journey into Singapore, unloading cargoes like coolies from the wind powered ship onto the bumboat along Singapore River, and trying their hands at tying sarong from the textile shop at the busy marketplace. They will also get to meet different shop owners to experience different occupations of the past. A discovery kit will be provided to complement pupils’ learning in the museum and they can redeem a token upon completion.
Learning Objectives
Pupils will learn more about: - the different spices and their uses. the different types of cargoes that were brought into Singapore. - the different occupations and lives in the early days of Singapore marketplace.
